Peru 2008 Bidding Round

On 6 May 2008 the Perupetro (Private Law State Company responsible for promoting the investment of hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation activities in the country) announced the 2008 Bidding Round. It is offering a total of 17 blocks. These blocks are located in Marañon basin, Titicaca basin, Madre de Dios basin, Lima basin and Pisco basin. The letter of intention and documents for qualifying must be submitted between 19 May and 11 August 2008. Technical data packages will be delivered between 19 May and 15 August 2008. Questions and requests for clarification may be submitted between 26 May and 15 August 2008, with the answers provided on 27 June, 25 July and 29 August 2008. On 8 September is the last day for submit of envelope number 1 “Technical Proposal” and envelope number 2 “Economic Proposal”. 8 September will see the opening of envelope number 1 and on 10 September occur envelope 2 will be opened, accompanied by evaluations and award.

In the beginning of June Perupetro added five blocks (Block 159, Block 160, Block 161, Block 162 and Block 163) to the 2008 Bidding Round.
