Launch of Oil and Gas UK's 2008 North Sea Activity Survey

The perspective of a professional services firm
On 11 February 2009, Carl Hughes, Lead Partner for Deloitte's UK Energy practice, presented his views at the breakfast briefing, which launched the 2008 North Sea Activity Survey in London.

The recent challenging economic climate is having a significant impact on the oil and gas sector.  Carl expressed his views on the importance of the industry in relation to the UK economy, the reduction in capital investment over the coming years whilst comparing the automotive industry and how the Government, industry and financiers need to work together to ensure the future of smaller oil and gas companies linked to the North Sea.
