January bargains for the oil and gas sector?

In November, we sponsored and took part in the 7th London Oil Week.  The Week's events brought together a host of speakers from all sectors of the upstream oil and gas industry, including Moses Boateng, Managing Director of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, and a delegation from Sonangol, the Angola National Oil Company, who presented views on a variety of industry issues.

We were pleased to contribute with a presentation, delivered at the Worldwide Independents Forum, debating the topic of expected consolidation in the sector.  Anna Andersen's insightful talk reviewed recent economic events and deal activity, concluding with the speculation that 2009 will see a raft of M&A transactions starting as early as January.
