We are pleased to announce the launch of three new training courses this autumn:
The power of gas
Essentials of gas and LNG
October 27th-29th, 2008
Our three-day course programme explores the technical, political and commercial influences on today’s gas value chain and how they will shape its future. Each facet of the industry is considered, from the challenges of exploration and extraction, to complexities of transportation, market dynamics and regulation. Topical issues, such as the role and importance of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and market deregulation, are introduced and examined in an engaging and thought-provoking way.
For detailed information about the course, please visit our website.
Future potential
Integrated evaluation of upstream hydrocarbon assets
November 17th-19th, 2008
Oil and gas fuels our world and with the impact of high hydrocarbon prices generating an uncertain future, it is important that assets can be evaluated to determine value when scarce data is available. This three-day business orientated course, builds the understanding of multi-discipline skills for asset evaluation, relying heavily on interactive learning.

Doing business in Brazil
Venue: Hilton Treetops, 161 Springfield Road, Aberdeen AB15 7AQ
Date: Thursday, October 2nd, 2008
Venue: The Deloitte Academy, 1 Stonecutter Street,
London EC4A 4TR
The enactment of Brazil’s
oil law, just over a decade ago, was, not surprisingly,
a catalyst for significant change in the country’s oil
and gas industry. Opening up its E & P sector to
foreign investment has proven very successful,
illustrated not only by the significant number of
super-majors, majors and independents now operating
there but also by the considerable exploratory effort
underway and by the recent discoveries in the deepwater
sub-salt frontier of the Santos Basin.
With this in mind, we are delighted that Mauro Andrade
and Luiz Fernando Rezende of Deloitte, Rio de Janeiro,
have agreed to visit the UK and share their expertise of
Brazil’s business environment. Further insights on
the sub-surface opportunities and operating challenges
will be delivered by guest speakers.
Briefings will be held in Aberdeen and London on
Tuesday, September 30th and Thursday, October 2nd
respectively.
