New Zealand's 2007 onshore Taranaki petroleum
blocks offer
New Zealand's Associate Energy Minister, Harry Duynhoven,
announced one of the largest onshore blocks offers in recent
years, by opening the Onshore Taranaki Petroleum Blocks
Offer on December 3rd, 2007. 11 petroleum permits are
available for bidding in the Taranaki basin with
applications being accepted up until 5.00 p.m. on Friday May
30th, 2008. These petroleum permits will be available in the
PetroView Asia Pacific December update.

India launches NELP-VII licensing round
India's Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources has
announced the seventh New Exploration Licensing Policy (NELP-VII)
licensing round. A total of 57 blocks are on offer for
exploration of oil and gas, comprising of 19 deep-water
blocks, nine shallow-water blocks and 29 onland blocks.
Roadshows for the round have been tentatively planned in
Mumbai, London, Houston and Calgary throughout January 2008.
The schedule for roadshows in Dubai, Perth and Singapore
will be released at a later date. Companies will need to
submit their bids by April 11th, 2008.
The provisional block shapes for the NELP-VII round can be
accessed via the OPENBLOCKS layer in the
