Indonesia has delayed the 2007 offer
of blocks as the authorities wanted more time for
preparation of the tender process. The offer was
expected to be announced by the end of August 2007 but
sources revealed that terms and conditions were yet to
be finalised. The offer is now expected to be announced
by the end of October 2007. 25 blocks in total are
expected to be offered and the tentative spatial
coordinates of blocks are available in the September
update of
PetroView Asia Pacific. The latest fiscal terms and
regulatory framework of the Indonesian upstream industry
are also available in our

New dataset – North Asia
We are pleased to announce the official release of
the PetroView North Asia dataset. Coverage for this
dataset includes: China (PRC), Japan, South Korea
(Republic of Korea), Mongolia and Taiwan (ROC). Please
note, only limited core table information is available
for the latter three countries within the inaugural
release.
The dataset will be updated on a quarterly basis in
2007, before moving to a monthly update cycle in 2008.
The data population in the core tables will be the
primary focus for this dataset's evolution in the
short-term.
PetroView North Asia contains cultural data layers
(bathymetry, coastline, cities, roads, provinces and
rivers) in addition to the standard PetroView attribute
tables: Licenses, Wells, Fields and Facilities. This
dataset is available on the MapInfo GIS platform and
release on the ESRI ArcView GIS platform is expected in
the near future.
