UK Budget 2007 – North Sea oil and gas ring fence activities

The current mainstream corporation tax rate of 30% for large companies will remain unchanged in respect of North Sea oil and gas activities from 1 April 2008. Instead, new rules will be introduced to set the main rate of corporation tax on oil and gas ring fence profits for large companies at 30% from 1 April 2008 (28% for all other large companies).

Europe’s gas executives do not support further consolidation

Representatives of the gas industry from across Europe expressed collective lack of support for further consolidation within the industry. Only 6% of the delegates surveyed by Deloitte at Europe’s largest gas conference, FLAME, believed Europe’s competitive strength in global energy markets would be improved through further consolidation.

This standard PetroView Module allows users to access the TGS-NOPEC catalogue of well logs and other borehole-related data via an online data access tool, LOG-LINE Plus!®. Geographic coverage originally focused on the Gulf of Mexico. This coverage has been significantly expanded, enabling TGS subscribers to link directly to the matched log suite and other borehole products for numerous oil and gas sectors, including the UK Continental Shelf, Russia, Canada, Nigeria, and other key African locations.

PetroReports – New Indonesia Upstream Petroleum Reports

The 2007 edition of the Indonesia Upstream Petroleum Report (UPR) is now available to purchase. The Indonesia UPR is a six volume publication, produced annually and is considered to be a definitive report on upstream activities in Indonesia. It includes comprehensive data and analysis on companies, licences, wells, fields and reserves and discounted cash flow analysis by PSC and consolidated by company.

The 2007 edition of the UPR also includes a complementary copy of our new Fiscal & Regulatory Guide for Indonesia.

PetroView - Asia Pacific and South Asia updates

Indonesia 2007 blocks awards

Nine of the twenty "Regular Tender Blocks" from Indonesia's 2006 bidding round were awarded on March 2nd, 2007. The remaining blocks are expected to be re-offered in the next bidding round. The latest information on these nine block awards can be accessed in the March release of the PetroView Asia Pacific dataset.

New offshore China blocks on offer

In March 2007, China National Offshore Oil Corp offered 22 new offshore blocks for bidding. These "open" blocks can be viewed in the March release of the PetroView Asia Pacific dataset and further information is also available on CNOOC's website. CNOOC made 13 blocks available in 2006, of which two were successfully awarded.

Asia Pacific and South Asia Field and Licence Notes modules - January 2007 release

The January 2007 release of the PetroView Field and Licence Notes modules for the Asia Pacific and South Asia datasets are now available. These optional modules contain detailed textual information on fields and licences, supplementing the existing data within the standard PetroView browser tables. The data has been built up by our industry experts over many years, providing PetroView users with greater insight and understanding of a region.
