This edition includes: New PetroView South Asia datasetWe are delighted to announce the launch of PetroView South Asia. The dataset includes the following countries: Bangladesh, India and Pakistan, and contains all standard data layers such as wells, licences, fields, facilities and pipelines. Cultural data layers including basin outlines, bathymetry, topography, surface geology and multi-client seismic surveys are also provided. The South Asia dataset is available for the MapInfo and ArcView (ESRI) GIS platforms and will be updated on a quarterly basis during 2006. The South Asia release forms part of our continued data coverage expansion. Notable future releases in 2006 include the Middle East and CIS datasets. New PetroView Asia Pacific maritime boundaries and featuresA new information layer has been added to the PetroView Asia Pacific dataset. The layer depicts the majority of the island features occupied by troops from various claimants in the South China Sea. The attribute data includes the feature’s name, occupying country, geographical co-ordinates and sources of information. The geodetic reference systems for the co-ordinates relating to these various claims is not available, therefore, the location of these points is not precise. GEO 2006 - Bahrain, March 27-29, 2006We will be exhibiting at GEO 2006 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre. The conference and exhibition promotes valuable exchange of ideas. It enables the review of important trends in the oil and gas sector and it is a leading draw for regional and international professionals in the field. Drawing on responses from oil producers and contractors, employing over 205,000 in the UK and international oil sector, this report examines business confidence, industry developments and activity. It also examines contract relationships, investment trends and business concerns for 2006.
