Business Developers: Aberdeen and Houston
We are seeking to recruit a number of motivated graduates, with up to three years’ work experience. Each role will be primarily client facing, regionally focused and located in one of three offices: Aberdeen (United Kingdom) and Houston (United States).
Core responsibilities will be:
- Developing the profile of Petroleum Services in the designated region;
- Meeting prospective clients and demonstrating the products and services that we provide;
- Coordinating opportunities with overseas teams where appropriate;
- Account management of the existing client base; and
- Providing some on-site technical client support.
Preferably the candidate should possess:
- A degree in IT/Geography/Geology or an equivalent qualification;
- Two to three years’ exposure to the upstream oil industry;
- Proficient IT skills (an understanding of Microsoft Excel and GIS products would be beneficial);
- A desire to develop interpersonal skills and marketing techniques;
- A team player mentality, able to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines; and
- Good communication skills and a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
Salary dependent on level of experience.

Upstream Analyst (NW Europe): London
We are seeking to recruit an oil and gas analyst to support the development of our North West Europe dataset.
The role would suit a petroleum geoscience/engineering graduate educated to MSc level. A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint is essential, together with a sound understanding of field development, asset modeling and the commercial aspects of the upstream oil and gas industry.
The responsibilities of this position will include:
- Understanding and updating fiscal terms and conditions;
- Data analysis, utilising in-house tools; and
- European data-gathering and client facing.

We are seeking to recruit an oil and gas analyst to support the development of our Black Sea/Central Europe dataset.
The role would suit a geoscientist educated to MSc level with some relevant industry experience of the region.

- Research and data analysis; and
- Supporting marketing initiatives and advisory projects.

Upstream Analyst (Asia): Singapore
We are seeking to recruit a motivated University graduate, with up to three years' of work experience, to be based in our Singapore office.
The role will include the following responsibilities:
Product development: To build and maintain regional upstream oil and gas databases for our subscription services, liaising with an IT team to incorporate new data enhancements, features and functionality. The role will include international data gathering and analysis, including economic analysis, report writing and collation.
Advisory: To assist on advisory projects within the upstream oil and gas sector by lending petroleum geoscience expertise.
Business development: To conduct demonstrations of products and promote consulting services. The role will include international business development initiatives such as client meetings, internal meetings, conferences/exhibitions and focused marketing opportunities.
Client support: To provide Help Line support to product clients. In time the role will involve coordinating User Group Meetings and training courses.
Qualifications and requirements must include the following:
- A Geo-scientific, Engineering or Business Degree;
- Up to three years' previous work experience in a related field;
- Knowledge of GIS and database systems advantageous;
- Knowledge of economic modelling & DCF analysis advantageous;
- Strong client focus and good client inter-facing skills are essential;
- Strong communication skills (written and oral English);
- Attention to detail and a professional demeanour are required; and
- Office based but international travel will be required (primarily within Asia Pacific).

PetroScope Support Analyst (Asia): Singapore
We have a challenging opportunity for a motivated graduate within our Singapore office. The role involves supporting PetroScope, a framework of upstream oil and gas cash flow valuation models, and our Fiscal & Regulatory Guides, a series of country guides providing a comprehensive overview of fiscal, regulatory and contractual terms applicable to upstream petroleum operations in a specific country.
Your core responsibilities will be:
- Client inter-facing activity for PetroScope, primarily in terms of technical support, client training, helpline support and business development;
- Research support to our internal team responsible for PetroScope and the Fiscal & Regulatory Guides, ensuring that both services are maintained with up-to-date terms.
Qualifications and requirements must include the following:
- Bachelor degree (in a quantitative discipline);
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (and VBA would also be advantageous);
- Very strong communication skills (written and oral English) essential;
- Highly numerate (a working knowledge of economic modelling and discounted cash flow analysis would be advantageous);
- A high degree of organisation in carrying out research essential;
- Attention to detail and a professional demeanour required;
- Primarily office based with some international travel required.
